The VrijLevenStal in combination with a sand bedding results in healthier and more vital cows. Besides improving cow health, the cow is more vigorous. Cow Comfort
All our innovations are developed together with the dairy farmer. The VrijLevenStal has also been set out in consultation with dairy farmers. Cow comfort and ease of use come together in this free-range barn equipped with all conveniences.
Advantages are evident from practical experience, for example:
- Decrease in somatic cell count due to less bacterial growth in the sand
- Fewer hoof trimming costs due to natural wear and tear
- Less claw problems due to more grip
- Improved heat detection through natural behavior
- Longer lifetime of the cow
BeddingCleaner for a clean bedding
This machine sifts cow dung from the barn bedding. Sifting the sand bedding daily with the BeddingCleaner keeps the bedding clean and dry for the cows.
The dimensions of the BeddingCleaner:
- 3x3 meters and the highest point is 1.8 meters
- Empty machine weighs 2750kg
- Contents of the dung collection bin is 1.5m³ (2.5t)
The BeddingCleaner is towed by a tractor, which must meet the following conditions:
- 70HP with four-wheel drive
- Weight and large tires on the tractor works favorably

Not two but three streams of manure!
From Hanskamp we recommend laying a slatted floor behind the feed alley, because it is at the feed fence that the most frequent fattening and urination takes place. Experience has shown that this is a good solution to keep the bedding clean and prevent contamination. So the first manure flow is the slurry in the basement that we are familiar with. There are also two additional manure streams. The urine that goes through the sand through drainage pipes to a storage. And the solid manure that is sieved out of the sand with the BeddingCleaner. Because of these different flows, each of which has its own characteristics, it is possible to fertilize the land in a more targeted way, resulting in excellent organic-rich soil.
