New in 2025: L’Port Electric
The 100% electric closing gate designed to protect cows in the concentrate feeding station.
Hanskamp proudly introduces the L’Port Electric, a fully electric closing gate that ensures the safety of your cows in the concentrate feeding station. A sustainable and user-friendly solution that enhances the welfare of your herd and improves the efficiency of your farm.
Why choose the L’Port Electric?
Around the concentrate feeding station it can often be unsettled, as lower-ranking cows are repelled. This can not only cause stress, but also lead to permanent injuries. This affects milk production and damages the health of your cows. The L'port Electric offers a solution.
- Protecting your cows: The closing gate prevents cows from being bumped while eating. In addition to preventing damage, each cow is guaranteed to get the right amount of concentrate.
- Peace and quiet in the herd: The gate only closes when a cow is actually entitled to concentrate feed. This prevents confusion and reduces stress in the herd.
Easy to install, reliable in use
The L'port Electric runs on standard mains power (230V) and is very easy to install. As soon as a cow is recognised and entitled to concentrate feed, the gate closes automatically and silently, controlled by the signal from the feed motors. When the concentrate feed runs out, the gate opens again automatically, allowing the cow to leave the station.
Innovative safety mechanisms
The L'Port Electric is equipped with unique and smart technology that ensures safety:
- Smart power measurement: the power measurement system detects when a cow is under the gate and immediately stops and raises slightly as soon as this happens. It then tries to close the gate again, each time with a slightly higher force, giving the cow more than enough time to walk away safely.
- Counterweight: In case of power failure, a counterweight keeps the gate balanced. This ensures that a cow can always open the gate and leave the station safely.
